I Tried Every Viral TikTok Recipe From 2025 So You Don't Have To
The honest reviews: what actually worked, what...did absolutely not, and what we're bringing into 2026 (PLUS! a cheesy giveaway for the holidays!)

Once I get an idea in my head, itās stuck. It will never stop nagging at me until I try it. Donāt even get me started on if that āideaā comes in a āprojectā shaped box.
Soā¦
A few months ago, I started collecting a list of all of the viral TikTok trends that Iāve wanted to try this year, but just never got around to. This week, trying all of them at once felt productive (or I convinced myself so for the sake of this newsletter. Thank you!).

Hereās the round up of the viral recipes that the internet promised would "change my life." Some did. Many didn't. A few made me question why I trust strangers on the internet. But all made for a fun excuse to play with my food!
We heard you love cheese! š« š§

10 Viral TikTok Food Trends from 2025
1. The Tortilla Pizza Wrap
@lizamarie_fit PIZZA WRAP šÆš Starting the week of wraps off with the pizza wrap - this one is beyond kid friendly! Ingredients: 1. Carb Balance large to... See more
The Steps: Lay out a tortilla, make one slice halfway down the middle, add different toppings in each quadrant, fold it into quarters, and toast it.
The Promise: Quick lunch, uses leftovers, fun to eat, looks impressive.
The Reality: It works, butā¦why wouldnāt it. Itās like a well educated quesadilla.
Verdict: Easy snack for when youāre in a rush and very easy to mix up and try with different toppings!
Worth the hype? Sure, but nothing to write home about.
2. Cheese Ramen Upgrade
@cassyeungmoney the cheese pull š #buldakramen
The Steps: Cook instant ramen, drain most of the water, add a slice of American cheese, crack an egg in, add butter, stir until creamy.
The Promise: Restaurant-quality ramen for $2.
The Reality: SO good. The cheese melts into the broth and makes it creamy. The egg adds richness. The butter isā¦butter. It takes 6 minutes and costs basically nothing. Itās also perfectly cozy for this time of year!
Tip: Add the egg at the very end and don't overcook it. You want it jammy, not rubbery. Also, keep more broth than you think because the cheese thickens everything up.
Verdict: Cheap, fast, actually makes instant ramen better. No notes.
Worth the hype? Absolutely. This is staying in the rotation.
This reminded me of a caramelized onion and chili crisp ramen recipe that Iāve been meaning to try!
3. Flipped Egg Sandwich
@joyfulcook_ Pan egg sandwich #tik #tiktok #fypć· #viral
The Steps: Pour scrambled eggs into a pan, place two pieces of bread directly on top of the eggs, flip everything together, fold it into a sandwich.
The Promise: Fastest egg sandwich ever, no extra dishes.
The Reality: Iām sure this works for a better chef than I, but I messed up the timing every single try, so weāre in a fight now.
Verdict: Cool concept. Harder than itās worth.
Worth the hype? Kind of. It's a breakfast party trick if you can master it.
4. Pesto Eggs
@amywilichowski #eggs #pestoeggs #homecook
The Steps: Put pesto in a pan, crack eggs on top, cook until set.
The Promise: Fancy? Breakfast?
The Reality: Add ham and call me Dr. Seuss. Itās basic but also delicious so no complaints, here.
Verdict: It's eggs. With pesto. That's the whole review.
Worth the hype? Not worth any hype, per se. But still yummy and not something that Iād thought to try before TikTok, so Iād call it a win.
Recipe to follow here!
5. Tanghulu (Sugar-Coated Fruit)
@kkearah.kkraus How to make tanghulu (Itās actually much easier than you think)!š #tanghulu #howtomaketanghulu #grapetanghulu #tanghulurecipe #tanghuluath... See more
The Steps: Coat fruit in hardened sugar syrup to create a crunchy candy shell.
The Promise: Crunchy, sweet, fun to make, impressive.
The Reality: This requires a candy thermometer and a lot of patience, so it was one of the harder things to make, but the result was so fun that it was worth it. I tried it with strawberries and grapes. The strawberries looked better but the grapes tasted better.
Verdict: Fun for a special occasion or a weekend project with kids. Not practical for regular snacking.
Worth the hype? My kids say āyes yes yes!ā So, āyes!ā
6. Puppy Chow
@peppertheapp GRINCH PUPPY CHOW šš«š Send this to a friend who would eat this whole bowl š #puppychow #grinchmas #grinchtiktok #christmasdessert #christmassnacks
The Steps: Coat Chex cereal in melted chocolate and peanut butter then toss in powdered sugar. Thatās the whole thing.
The Promise: Easy no-bake snack, perfect for parties, tastes like childhood.
The Reality: The classics are classic for a reason. Itās the perfect holiday grazing treat that you feel fine about munching on all day because itās just cereal (riiight?).
Verdict: Not a new trend, but every year TikTok reminds us why it's been around forever.
Worth the hype? It never needed hype. Itās classic.
7. Pasta Chips
@feelgoodfoodie #pastachips are my new favorite chips! Theyāre so good and make the best appetizer! #pastatiktok #summertime
The Steps: Cook pasta, toss with oil and seasoning, air fry or bake until crispy, eat like chips.
The Promise: Crunchy snack that uses up leftover pasta.
The Reality: Friedā¦good. Pastaā¦good. So by simple mathematics, thisā¦good. I used rigatoni because the tube shape gets extra crispy. Tossed with olive oil, garlic powder, parmesan, and Italian seasoning. Air fried at 400°F for about 10 minutes, shaking halfway through. They come out crunchy and salty and problematically addictive.
Verdict: Great for a snack. A great vessel for dips and condiments. Great to use as croutons on soup of salad.
Worth the hype? Yes. Making these again this week. And also maybe tomorrow.
8. French Yogurt Cake
@condimentclaire CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE
The Steps: A simple cake made with yogurt, measured using the yogurt container as your measuring cup.
The Promise: Easy, foolproof, uses one bowl, tastes good every time.
The Reality: This one is my childhood, so for nostalgia reasons alone, itās my number one. That said, itās also so easy, so delicious, and so forgiving. You can add a million different things to it to mix up the flavors.
Verdict: Absolutely worth it. This is part of my regular rotation for birthdays, potlucks, and bake sales.
Worth the hype? One thousand percent, yes. Make this cake.
9. Ina Garten's Brownie Pudding
@ehtaere This was incredible and pretty easy to make!! The only thing I would change for me personally would be to do 1 cup sugar instead of 2! Wit... See more
The Steps: Pour brownie batter into ramekins, top with a mixture of cocoa powder and sugar, pour boiling water over the whole thing, bake. It magically separates into cake on top and pudding sauce on the bottom.
The Promise: Fancy individual desserts, no-fail (somehow?), impressive for dinner parties, Ina said to do it and I trust her with my life.
The Reality: I truly will never understand how this works, but itās so good I donāt question the witchcraft. You essentially pour water over batter, put it in the oven, and it comes out with a cake layer on top and a rich, fudgy pudding sauce underneath.
Verdict: Itās like a mix of chocolate molten lava cake and gooey cake batter and it looks so much more impressive than the effort that goes into it.
Worth the hype? Ina can do no wrong.
10. Chippy Boys
@allrecipes Check Out These Viral Chippy Boys We do it just like the creator, @Kaelah š©· . It's a dangerous midnight snack made from salty potato chips... See more
The Steps: Use potato chips as the base for nachos instead of tortilla chips. Top with gorgonzola, bacon, green onions, whatever sounds good. Broil until the cheese melts.
The Promise: Nachos, but not.
The Reality: The perfect movie snack. I used thick-cut kettle chips because regular chips turn to dust under the broiler. The salty-funky-sweet combo of chips-gorgonzola-honey is delicious and you can do a million variations on this to mix it up. Cheddar and jalapeƱos. Brie and fig jam. Parmesan and truffle oil. Anything.
Verdict: Dangerously good.
Worth the hype? Yes.
Which ones have I missed that I need to try next year?? Happy snacking!
Xx,
Saanya
